NEW MOON's Taylor Lautner is now the highest-paid teen in Hollywood with NORTHERN LIGHTS and MAX STEEL

If only I carried a more defined set of abs when I was 17. The possibilities would have been endless. Taylor Lautner, who starred as "the other guy" in The Twilight Saga: New Moon, is now the most popular little guy in Hollywood and he's quickly becoming the highest paid. Deadline Hollywood reports that Lautner will bank $7.5 million for his upcoming role in Northern Lights. But that's not all. Lautner will also star in Max Steel, an upcoming action movie based on a popular 90s toy line, and he'll be paid an even larger (undisclosed) salary. He's now making more than Daniel Radcliffe, Miley Cyrus, and Zac Efron. After the jump, learn why he may be making a huge mistake.

NEW MOON sets new midnight record at $26.3 million (holy crap)

Well, no sooner do I post my review than we find out The Twilight Saga: New Moon had the biggest midnight opening of all time. The vampire love drama pulled in $26.3 million across the country at midnight last night. This blows away Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince's $22.2 million debut this summer and The Dark Knight, which made $18.5 million when it released last year.

What's scarier: there are reports that it made almost $14 million this morning too. A huge $120-$130 million dollar opening weekend is now expected. Will it have the largest opening of all time? It could.

NEW MOON is shirtless and slow, but pretty

Score:

I've never seen so many shirtless teenagers and vacant stares in my life. There is such a thing as a "chick flick" and then there's New Moon, the actual movie equivalent of a Harlequin novel, sadly without the Fabio-adorned cover or sex. It's a marked improvement from its predecessor, Twilight, but only if you can get over the high-flown acting and slow pace. Judging from the reactions of the high-school girls packed into Celebration! Cinema here in Lansing, MI (my town), genetically-troubled half-naked teenage boys running around in the rain more than compensate for a bit of lingering.

This must be what watching The Beatles was like for girls of the 60s. The band sounded amazing, but you probably couldn't hear a note if you saw them live. Seeing New Moon at midnight was like watching a movie with a laugh/scream track. The theater was clogged with hundreds of blossoming female fans who laughed, oohed, and awed at everything. After a few minutes, I had more fun going with the flow than anything else. Would I have liked it if I saw it alone? I have no idea, though I did, regrettably, think Club Dread was hilarious when I saw it with a bombastic college crowd some years ago--not so much when I saw it in a less social situation. Laughter is contagious.

Hilarious Pixar Intro Parody

Go College Humor! Very well made. The vomiting 'P' is a nice touch. More stories after the jump.
