First picture of Bond from 'Skyfall' released

A single picture hardly justifies a blog post (or does it?), but I happen to be quite excited for Skyfall, the next James Bond movie. This picture shows Daniel Craig in Shanghai, China. What he’s doing there, we do not know, but we know that he’s probably packing a few gadgets since Q (a young Q played by Ben Whisaw) has been confirmed for the film as well as two Bond girls, Naomie Harris and Berenice Marlohe.
We also know that the film’s plot revolves around M, played again by Judy Dench: “Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost,” reads the film’s description. Sam Mendes (American Beauty, Jarhead) is still set to direct.
2012 is also the 50th anniversary of the James Bond franchise. To celebrate, all 22 Bond films are being re-released on Blu-ray to celebrate with extra bonus footage. It will mark nine of the films’ debut on the format. You can pre-order the entire set for $200.
We’ll have more on Bond as soon as we hear it.
