'Dumb and Dumber' sequel is moving ahead

It's been 17 years, but a sequel to Dumb and Dumber may be in the works. Deadline reports that now that Bobby and Peter Farrelly have finally wrapped work on The Three Stooges, a dream project of theirs, the brothers are moving forward with a full-fledged sequel to Dumb and Dumber, another movie they've hoped to do for some years now. Sean Anders and John Morris, writers of Sex Drive, are working on the script.
The good news is, Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels may be onboard for the sequel. Carrey dropped some hints about the sequel while promoting Mr. Popper's Penguins and Jeff Daniels has previously said that making Dumb and Dumber was one of the best career moves he's made. The original film was made for $16 million and grossed more than $250 million. Since its release, it has become somewhat of a cult classic, much like Carrey's Ace Ventura: Pet Detective.
Let's just hope it's better than Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd (2003). That film was produced without the Farrelly brothers or any of the original team. It did not perform well.
