Fox gains rights to vampire hunter flick about Abe Lincoln

Yes, it is as awesome as it sounds!
Twentieth Century Fox has beaten out Summit (the people responsible for the Twilight Saga), among others, for the film rights of Seth Grahame-Smith's novel, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. The movie will chronicle - you guessed it - Abraham Lincoln's adventurous pursuit of revenge on the undead bloodsuckers that were responsible for his mother's death.
Intrigued? I know I am!
According to ComingSoon.net, director Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted) is slated to direct, with Tim Burton (no surprise there) producing, and Grahame-Smith himself as screenwriter. Oh, and of course, you'll be able to see our 16th President ruthlessly take on the vampire legions in 3D!
Finally, a film comes along that will answer that age-old question: Who would win a fight between Edward Cullen and Abraham Lincoln? Too bad we have to wait until 2012 to find out!
The rights to Grahame-Smith's first novel, the wildly successful Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, have also been picked up by Lionsgate, with Natalie Portman set to star as the zombie-killing, ass-kicking Elizabeth Bennet.
