So, I've been doing movie news bits. I usually include a fresh trailer or two in each one, but there have been quite a few interesting trailers lately. And so I bring you a collection of some of my favorites. Enjoy.
That Evening Sun
Hal Holbrook is amazing. Unfortunately, my first major notice of him was in 2007's "Into the Wild," but he has played memorable characters for more than 50 years. If you haven't seen "Into the Wild," watch it. "That Evening Sun" is made by an unproven writer/director, just as I like em. Scott Teems has everything to show and nothing to hold back. I can't wait to see this one. Hopefully it will get a decent release.
More trailers after the jump.

It's a documentary about how the world is ending. This time, it might actually be a credible one. The man it focuses on, Michael Ruppert, is a very straight-laced guy, and hard to fit into a simple "nutjob" labeling. Click the link above (or here) to read some of Slashfilm's thoughts on him. Instead of just sensationalizing, like Michael Moore likes to do, Ruppert uses facts and figures. He has archived footage of predicting much of the credit crisis we're in right now. Fascinating stuff.
Mary and Max
Claymation seems to be making a bit of a comeback lately. "Coraline" did quite well earlier this year and Wes Anderson is tackling "The Fantastic Mr. Fox" completely in claymation. "Mary and Max" however, has a look I haven't seen before. I particularly like its sparse use of color. This film is written and directed by Adam Elliot (newbie director) and has some big name voices like Philip Seymour Hoffman, Toni Collette, and Eric Bana. The voices seem to have been picked for their appropriateness though, not their name.
Serious Moonlight
This one could go either way. I'm still not a big fan of Meg Ryan's new face, but I'll get over that eventually. What interests me is the passion behind this project. It was written by "Waitress" writer/director Adrianne Shelley, who passed away in 2006. Cheryl Hines (Larry David's wife in "Curb Your Enthusiasm," among other roles) is directing in place of Shelley. This is Hines first film. It could be good.
The Men Who Stare at Goats (New Feature Trailer)
Gotta love a movie based around men who think they are Jedis. I think this trailer is better than the original. Can't wait to see this. Clooney can't seem to do wrong these days.
